We've seen this with Linux, BSD, and programming languages, but crypto adds financial incentives on top. Most Ethereum maximalists believe in it because they see Ethereum as serving a greater good for the world. The Solana community is more tech/engineering/speed oriented and less philosophical, but this pragmatic focus is itself a philosophy and set of values. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, and Solana believers all think they're superior to the rest. If they didn't, they'd switch teams. But for investors, this tribal thinking doesn't come naturally, they need to stay pragmatic and adapt their views based on evidence. However, it's exactly these "XRP shills" that drive XRP's price higher. People believe in these projects with religious fervor, and that's actually what pumps their valuations. What I'm trying to say is that your criticism towards irrational tribalism is actually a feature, not a bug, it's the community conviction that creates the financial value. ETH price depends on these maxis even I don't consider myself one of them.
