One of the most important decisions teams make is chain selection. Usually there's 1 of 3 reasons, though sometimes more than 1. 1. distribution - access to users you want to reach 2. tech - able to fulfill hard technical requirements 3. financial incentives - cold hard cash to fund the biz We selected @AbstractChain for the Proof of Play Arcade product because it has easily the best distribution for our target audience and their marketing engine is Uber powerful. We chose @arbitrum orbit for pirate nation because there was no other tech stack out there that could handle our needs, not even close. The game would not have been possible elsewhere. Some teams choose option 3 ($$$) not realizing that 1 and 2 are often more important and will serve long-term, over short-term needs. Best case is when you can align all 3 at once. You can always migrate (as we did) but it's expensive and complicated. Better to nail the decision upfront.
