Note: The information in this article is relevant only for customers of OKX SG Pte. Ltd. who have successfully opted in to be treated as Accredited Investors.

OKX SG Pte. Ltd. (“OKX SG”, “we” or “us”) is a Major Payment Institution providing payment services pursuant to the Payment Services Act 2019. Under Singapore laws and regulations, all investors other than Institutional Investors should by default be treated as retail investors. An investor who qualifies under one of the categories of Accredited Investor will have the choice of “opting in” to be treated as an Accredited Investor for the purposes of certain consent provisions([1]) (“Consent Provisions”) in respect of such investor’s dealings with us.

Confirmation of Accredited Investor Status

On the basis of the representation that you have provided to us under the Accredited Investor Opt-In Confirmation and/or other information which may be available or made available to us, we have assessed and categorised you as an Accredited Investor.

After Opting In as an Accredited Investor

Generally, as a consequence of this categorisation:

  • We are not required to establish your financial situation, investment experience or investment objectives and we may not be in a position to assess the suitability of any particular investment product for you or any investment decision that you may make. You will bear full responsibility for all investments and investment decisions that you make, and we will incur no liability whatsoever in connection therewith;

  • You may access and receive certain services and/or products only accessible to Accredited Investors;

  • You may not be accorded certain regulatory safeguards, information rights and reports that would otherwise be available to retail investors; and

  • You will forego the benefit of such regulatory safeguards in respect of all accounts you hold with us.

Accredited Investors are assumed to be better informed, and better able to access resources to protect their own interests, and therefore require less regulatory protection. Customers who agree to be treated as accredited investors are reminded to exercise utmost caution when dealing in digital payment tokens.

This does not purport to disclose all the risks associated with being treated as an Accredited Investor. The disclosures above are only intended to provide you with sufficient detail so as to enable you to make an informed decision. You need to carefully consider the risks and consequences of such treatment in the light of your own experience, objectives and financial resources and other relevant circumstances. You should seek your own professional legal advice as necessary.

Withdrawal as an Accredited Investor

Where you have consented to being treated as an Accredited Investor, you have the right to withdraw from being treated as an Accredited Investor at any time by following the procedures set out here.
